How to do a Natural Ponytail Look w/Extensions

A lot of people have been wanting to know how to get a ponytail similar to the one Nicki Minaj had with the long thick black hair. I made a video tutorial on how you can get a similar look. In this vlog, I do both a long and short ponytail using the kanekalon hair. There are several different ways that you can do this style. Even if you wanted to roll the ends and dip in hot water for a natural curl or if you simply wanted to buy pre-styled hair, the installation will be the same. I didn't mention this in the video, but depending on how tight the elastic is on your hair tie, you may want to wrap twice around your bun. I did not simply because I had a small, tight hair tie. This is a great protective style that you can do in 5 minutes or less.
Until next time....XO!

New Hair for Fall

I wanted something simple, classic, and quick; so I created a nice little U-Part wig that I could wear at anytime or anywhere. I used the 8" SHE hair to create this look; along with a couple of wig clips, a hot glue gun, and a needle/thread.

What's your go to style? Let me know what you think and what you love.

It's Been Six Months! Equal Brazilian Bundle Wave Update

If you read my blogs regularly or subscribe to my YouTube channel, then you know a few months ago I decided to give the Equal Brazilian Bundle Wave hair a try. If you're not familiar with the hair, it is a synthetic fiber hair that is made to mimic the appearance of remy hair. The hair is heat resistant and can be curled with a curling iron/rod or flat iron. The hair comes with it's own wave pattern and can be straightened out. I realized last weekend that it had been six months since I made my first U-part wig (you can see the video on my U-part wig tutorial by going here: http://www.sheloveshair.blogspot.com/2015/02/how-to-make-u-part-wig.html ) using the Brazilian bundle wave hair and decided to put in on and review it. I must say this hair has help up well; especially for a synthetic hair. Granted, I do not wear this wig on a regular basis. I wore it a lot during the first 1-2 months. I'm sure that if a person gets the hair sewn in to their own hair it may not last as long due to daily wear and tear. Check out my video update on the hair after having it 6 months below :-)

What was your experience with the Equal bundle wave collection if you've tried it? What things do you do to help maintain both your synthetic or virgin/remy hair? Let me know! If you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel yet, you can do so now by clicking here. Check out our IG- sheloveshairxo

How to do Senegalese Twists

Okay, so it's summer summer summertime...summertime! Lol. It's summertime and I didn't want to be bothered with trying to fight of the humidity,so I thought this would be a good time to try out some Senegalese twists. I like how they looked on me...they were far longer than I wanted them to be. I really wanted them mid back length, so if I get them again that's the length I will get. Many people are able to do their own hair and some may just want to learn how to do them on someone else's; therefore, I have provided you with video footage from me getting my done to guide you as a tutorial. Please excuse the first 29 seconds of the video. Something went wrong in rendering and the audio got out of sync. Not to worry; the part of the video where I actually start the demonstration works perfectly! Check it out below and let me know how your experience with Senegalese twists went.

Thank you so much for watching & reading my blogs. If you haven't already subscribed to my YouTube channel already, you can do so by clicking here.

Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Review

Omgoodness! I can't believe I forgot to post this review to my blog; what was I thinking?!! Ok, so I have never been a fan of liquid makeup on myself. I just didn't like the way it looked on me. I've had Mac and Fashion Fair, but I just was not feeling it. I had been using some Cover Girl creme to powder from the Queen Collection and I really liked how well the color blended. Still, I didn't feel like I was getting as great of coverage as I should. After seeing so many makeup tutorials on YouTube and they all seemed to be using this FIT Me Foundation, I decided to give it a try since I was running low on my current foundation. It was less than $6 at Walmart so I thought, "Why not?!" It was the best investment I've ever made in makeup....like ever! I absolutely loved it! It doesn't take much at all to give you a nice even, smooth look. A little bit really goes a long way with this makeup. I will say this, let it set before you make up your mind. When I first apply mine it can look a little too yellow, but after it's been on ten minutes or so it looks just fine. It is summer time and who has time for runny makeup. Another reason why I didn't typically like liquid makeup. Yes, I had primer underneath, but if you get too hot that makeup can still start to not look too hot. Well, for under $6 you can also get the FIT Me setting powder! Put a little of this on after your apply the foundation to set your makeup. It definitely makes a difference. I have posted a video below so you can see the steps I take when applying. This is not a tutorial, but just a review I did. Let me know what your favorite makeup is and if you've tried FIT Me, what do you/don't you like about it. Thanks for checking out my blog ;-)

Until next time....XO!

How I Wash & Straighten My Natural (No Heat Damage)

I decided at the last minute to record my process of washing and straightening my natural hair. Everyone has a different regimen and this is just what I do. I hardly ever wear my hair curly, but as you will be able to see in the video, I do not suffer from "heat damage." I am not doing a hard press in this video, but just straightening enough to make my hair manageable for quick errands and for  blending ability with my u-part wigs. What I did not mention in the video, but will here is this: Yes, I wear my hair straight 98% of the time, but I do not straighten my hair frequently. Once my hair has been straightened after I was, I do not flat iron my hair again until I wash it again (with the exception of styling if necessary.) I recommend that you wrap your hair at night, wear flexi rods or some sort of no heat rollers to maintain your style in order to defer from using any additional heat on your hair. Feel free to share your own personal tips or experience with your natural hair with us. Thanks for blogging with me!

Equal Brazilian Bundle Wave Review (AMAZING!)

So many people have been raving about Equal's Bundle Wave Collection, so I had to try it. If you're not familiar with this hair, it is a high quality synthetic fiber that resembles virgin or remy hair; you can even straighten it! Can you imagine a synthetic hair that that looks like high quality human hair AND you can straighten it without it melting or getting sticky?! Well, it's true! The only difference is, unlike true virgin/remy, it will not wave back up when it's wet. Outside of that, it is the perfect hair if you're balling on a budget. Even if you're not on a budget, you may just not be into spending tons of money on hair and that's totally understandable. So, if this is a high quality synthetic hair that has all those features it must expensive for synthetic hair, right? Wrong! This hair is $9.99 a pack and that's regardless of if you buy it in lengths ranging 16-22 inches. If you get the specially dyed colors you may have to pay $11.99 per bundle. There also the option of getting an all in one pack for $19.99 which includes 3 bundles and a closure piece. This hair is also available in Russian, Malaysian, Jamaican, Peruvian, etc. Dying to see what this hair looks like on a real person? No worries, I got you! Check out my initial hair review when I first bought and installed this hair. Stay tuned for my update after I straightened the hair which will be a different blog.

Doesn't that hair look AMAZING...and for only $9.99!
Have you tried this yourself or are thinking about it? Let me know what your experience was and of course subscribe to my YouTube channel by click here if you haven't already.

How to Make a U-Part Wig

I decided to finally give the U-Part wig a try, so I did. I used Equal's Brazilian Bundle Wave hair to complete the U-part wig with. My review on the hair itself will be posted to my blog shortly, but you can watch the video now on my YouTube. It was a simple process for me and I loved it since making wigs is therapeutic to me. I actually prefer this method because I no longer have to worry about making my closure perfect...which can mess up an entire wig if you don't have it right. Making a u-part eliminates that problem. If you're interested on how I did it and/or want to try it for yourself, check out my video tutorial below.

Hope you enjoyed this! Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel here.

How to Make Your Own Clip In Extensions

Hey there fab dolls! So, recently I was thinking how simple it must be to make your own clip in extensions. I thought this would be a great idea because when you make your own you can use whatever kind of hair you want, make as many pieces as you want, and not to mention the fact that they'd be custom cut just for YOU! You could even make them according to a certain style, plus you'll spend at least 50% less money than you would buying pre-made clip ins. I'm all for saving a coin! So, that is exactly what I decided to do and it was just as simple as I thought it'd be. It was so easy that I made a tutorial on how to do it while I was experimenting on how to do it lol. I do use a glue-gun on the clips in this video. If you decide to use the same method, be sure to give the glue ample time to dry before inserting them into your hair, as inserting them as soon as they dry can cause the clips to pop off of the weft. Check out the video below and if you aren't currently one of my YouTube subscribers, you can subscribe by clicking on the word here.

I hope you all enjoyed that and until next time.....XO!
